Reporting to the CIO, you will be accountable for the commercial and financial management of IT with both external, internal European and global interfaces. The constituent elements are supplier relationship management; accountability for IT governance, performance and mid term planning as well as financial management of the IT European budget; and assistance with the development of the future global sourcing strategy.
You will develop relationships with fellow directors in IT Europe and represent Europe on global committees. For IT; responsibilities include the annual budget, creation of monthly activity reports, coordination of the IT strategy plan and strategic management of vendors, including the management of supplier contracts. Global contribution encompasses midterm planning and budgeting, facilitation and planning of meetings and alignment of European and global policies. You’ll ensure global task forces and teams achieve their agreed objectives.
We require a mix of skills and abilities. The commercial ability to grasp the essence of and overall picture of the business and translate IT matters into financial terms. Softer skills will ensure you have gravitas, are efficiency focussed and can build relationships locally and in a global context. A tough negotiator, who can balance interests, communicate effectively, influence outcomes and create confidence at all levels.
A graduate, probably with a financial qualification, you will have held an IT Commercial Planning and Controls role in a multi-national business. Solid experience of running significant budgets, purchasing and contract management and use of a controls framework, (COBIT) in a complex, high value, outsourced, ITIL environment is a must. Experience of vendor management to ensure suppliers meet predefined goals is also necessary. Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, international regulations and business processes is highly advantageous. Previous team management experience is expected.
International and European travel will be required.
